Your page

• ImprovedYour logo library now lives in the Page panel with the rest of your page's design, instead of off on its own.

The Media Vault

• NewBlur out anything you don't want seen — Obsydian finds the faces and the readable text for you, and you can draw over anything it wouldn't know to look for: a tattoo, a scar, a piercing, the poster on your wall. In a video, whatever you've covered keeps following it as it moves.
• NewYour edits are kept in the vault as a version, sitting next to an original that never changes — so the blurred cut is there ready to send, and the file as you shot it is still there behind it. Take the blur off whenever you like.
• NewCover each thing its own way — a soft blur, a bar that sits across the eyes and stays there as the shot moves, an oval, or an emoji over one face and a plain blur over another. If something got missed, "Look harder" takes a slower second pass and can only ever add a cover.
• NewA "Recently edited" view to find your way back to the shot you were just working on, arrows either side of the photo to move through your vault a file at a time (or the ← and → keys), and a "Saving…" that turns to "Saved" on the photo itself.
• ImprovedMoving, tagging or trashing a few hundred files at once no longer crawls.
• ImprovedYour vault has always cleaned every file on the way in, and now it says so — the end of an upload tells you how much came off and how many of your files were carrying your location. And if you ever want the shot back exactly as your phone wrote it, we put it back together for you.
• ImprovedYour vault's re-lock choices now say how long they really last — every 15 minutes, every 24 hours, every 7 days, or until you quit your browser — with a line under each for the part a label can't hold. Settings → Security.
• ImprovedSomething you deleted from your vault now waits 30 days in Trash before it's gone for good, up from a week — more room to change your mind.
• FixedA vault that had re-locked kept your file names and thumbnails on screen until you reloaded the page. It clears them the moment it locks now.
• FixedA photo that arrived already clean was labelled "metadata stripped — not recoverable", as though something had been taken off it and couldn't be given back. Nothing had been taken off it, and it no longer says otherwise.
• FixedAn upload that failed just said "Failed". It now tells you why — the wrong sort of file, over your limit, or a vault that's still locked.

Leak protection

• NewSee what the Metadata Scrubber actually took out — every file now comes back with a list of what it was carrying: where the photo was taken, the phone that took it, when, your name, and everything you did to it since.
• NewKeep what you scrub — send a file from the Metadata Scrubber straight into your Media Vault, one at a time or the whole lot, instead of only downloading it.
• ImprovedPhotos are cleaned the moment you drop them in and come back genuinely smaller — and a batch arrives as one download laid out in a grid, rather than one save at a time your browser has to ask about.
• ImprovedLeak Check is Content Scan in your dashboard now — it finds reposts, scrapes and people passing themselves off as you, and the old name covered only one of the four. The free tool keeps its name.

The watermarker

• NewBlur is in the watermarker too, so you can hide something and mark the file in one go.
• NewBrowse your vault without leaving the watermarker — pick a folder and its photos line up along the top, ready to drag into your batch.
• NewPin a look to one file — give a single photo its own placement, size or opacity instead of watermarking it separately from the rest of the batch. Switch back to the batch look, or apply your one-off to everything, any time.
• NewBounce — a new way to place your logo: it ricochets around the frame like a screensaver instead of sitting still or orbiting the border. Videos only, since a bounce is nothing but movement.
• ImprovedYour text and your logo now get their own editor each, instead of sharing one panel where it wasn't always clear which one you were moving.
• ImprovedPick a saved logo from a dropdown instead of a wall of tiles, and name it as you upload it — so a big library reads "Summer logo" and "Winter logo" rather than "IMG_4021".
• ImprovedMarking a photo from your vault now happens on your own device, so the file saves straight away instead of making the round trip to us and back.
• ImprovedStart a big download or a quick watermark run and walk away — like uploads already did, it keeps going and reports back once you're on another page.
• FixedSwitching your logo to free placement flung it into the middle of the frame instead of picking it up where it already sat, and opening a photo you had just watermarked could freeze the tab.

Plans and partners

• ImprovedDrop off a paid plan and your vault now holds everything for a full year before it's touched, not six months — plenty of time to come back to it.

The site and dashboard

• NewNocturne — rose on midnight, Obsydian Black's second finish alongside Gold. Settings → Preferences.
• ImprovedThe sidebar is shorter and easier to scan: takedowns now sit inside Content Scan, your Inbox is a tab on Audience, and Help and What's New live in Settings. Your old links still work.
• ImprovedDismissing the corner "Get set up" card now tucks it into a small marker rather than hiding it for good — click the marker to open it again.
• FixedSaving a single file on a Mac popped up the share sheet instead of just downloading it, bold words ran into the word after them in a couple of dozen places ("Share your link.Paste it into…"), and a pile of bugs on the mobile site is squashed.

Your page

• NewPromo cards — give one link its own colour and a scrolling label that won't let anyone scroll past it. For the launch, the sale, the thing you actually want them to click.
• NewLava backgrounds — colour that slowly churns across your entire page, not a still gradient behind your cards. Six of them: Flamingo, Solstice, Lagoon, Ultraviolet, Absinthe and Cobalt, for Obsydian Black.
• NewCover photo — put a full-width shot across the top of your page, framed and zoomed exactly how you want it. On its own, or as a banner with your avatar sitting over it.
• NewDesktop background photo — your cover photo can fill the space either side of your page on wide screens, instead of a flat colour.
• NewTwo new QR code looks — an Obsydian and a Studio colourway for your page's QR code (Studio and above).
• NewMore social links — you can now add Tumblr, Vimeo, Medium, Etsy, Signal, Behance, Bandcamp, TIDAL, Deezer, VK, GitHub and Google Maps, each with its own icon.

The Media Vault

• NewVault lock — hand someone your unlocked phone and your originals still stay shut. The Media Vault now sits behind a lock of its own: a passcode, a code from your authenticator app, or Face ID and your fingerprint — and it can re-lock itself while you're not looking.
• NewGet your original back — the vault hands you a cleaned copy of a file by default, and now the untouched original too, exactly as it came off your camera, whenever you need to prove what you shot.
• NewWatermarked files now carry a small tick in your vault, with the date you last marked one, so you can see at a glance which of your originals are already covered.

The watermarker

• ImprovedStep through your images in the watermarker with the arrows either side of the preview, or your ← and → keys, instead of scrolling the file strip to click each one.
• ImprovedMarking a file for several subscribers at once is clearer — each name gets its own box to fill in and remove, instead of one list you typed into a single field.
• ImprovedYour saved watermarks are now a dropdown rather than a long row of buttons, so a big collection no longer crowds the panel.
• ImprovedFiles sent from the vault to the watermarker start loading straight away, and all of them arrive, instead of the last few going missing on a slow connection.
• FixedIn the watermarker, scrolling through your images dragged the settings panel along with it, and a tall preview was cut off at the bottom. Both sides now scroll on their own.

Plans and partners

• NewObsydian Black is now a normal upgrade — choose it from your billing page and go straight to checkout, instead of asking for an invite and waiting to be let in. Picking Black on the pricing page before you have an account carries you through sign-up and into checkout too, rather than dropping you on an empty dashboard.
• NewThe partner programme is open — send other creators our way and get paid every month they stay. Apply from Settings, add where you want the money, and watch it come in from your Partner page.
• ImprovedArrived through a partner's link? Your 30% discount is now applied for you at checkout, instead of needing a code pasted in.
• FixedChanging plan while you were already subscribed started a second subscription alongside the first, instead of moving you across. It now switches your existing plan and charges only the difference for the rest of the month.

The site and dashboard

• NewSix new pages on the site, if you want to see what Obsydian actually does before you point a follower at it: a page each for your link in bio, content protection, the Media Vault, creator safety and conversion, plus a full page on Obsydian Black.
• ImprovedThe whole public site has been rebuilt from scratch — landing page, pricing and every free tool. It finally looks like the thing we're asking you to put your name next to.
• ImprovedSigning in, signing up and onboarding got a cleaner, more consistent look.
• ImprovedSettings is now organised into tabs — Account, Your page, Traffic, Security and more — instead of one long scroll.

Your audience and analytics

• NewContact inbox — a booking enquiry buried in your email is a booking you lost. Messages sent through your page are now kept for you as well as forwarded: read, archive or reply from Dashboard → Inbox.
• NewShort links — turn any link into a tidy obsydian.vip/s/ one, and every click is labelled with where it came from, so TikTok, Instagram and your own analytics finally agree on who sent you what.
• NewPage redirect — temporarily send your whole page to one URL for a launch or a sale, then flip it back. Settings → Traffic.
• NewAn unsubscribe link on every sign-up form — anyone on your list can leave in one click, and they're left out of your exports automatically.

The Media Vault

• NewThe Media Vault is open — every Studio and Black account gets it, not just the founding creators who had it first.
• NewVault albums — sort your files into folders, and folders inside those, by dragging them where you want rather than moving them one at a time through a menu.
• NewWatermark straight from the vault — select a hundred files, pick a saved watermark, done. No trip to the watermarker.
• NewStart a big upload and walk away — it keeps going while you get on with the rest of your dashboard, and picks up where it left off if you come back.
• ImprovedEverything in your vault is now locked away in storage, not just behind your login.

Leak protection

• NewLeak Check now recognises your own vault files — a result tells you which of your files it found, and writes the takedown notice around it, instead of handing you a bare link.
• NewA first look at Concierge, coming soon to Obsydian Black — it'll go looking for your leaked work on a schedule and tell you what it found, so you're not the one searching your own name at midnight.
• ImprovedCleaning a file now checks it isn't someone else's registered work first, so you can't accidentally strip the credit off something that wasn't yours. Your own files are unaffected.
• ImprovedThe free tools now show their working — Leak Check names each place as it checks it instead of sitting on "Scanning…", and the Metadata Checker reveals your photo's location as it finds it.

Plans and partners

• NewPartner programme — a first look, with a waitlist open now. Send other creators our way and there'll be a proper way to earn on it: your own link and a cut every month, plus a hand-picked track that comps a year of Obsydian Black.
• ImprovedYou'll get an email if a trial or a payment needs you, plus an optional weekly round-up of your numbers — one click to stop the round-up, and it never touches your billing emails.

Your page

• NewLight themes — all eight of them now come in light as well as dark, one switch above the theme grid. Noir stays dark, as it should.
• NewCustom domains — put your page on your own web address instead of obsydian.vip/yourname. Add the record we give you at your domain provider and it switches over on its own.
• ImprovedYour moving backgrounds keep working on a light page — shimmer, aurora, stars, rays, drift, fade and noir each got their own light version instead of switching off.
• ImprovedThe dark themes are easier to tell apart — they keep real colour in the gradient instead of all fading to the same near-black.
• ImprovedSomeone taps your link from inside Instagram or TikTok and it now jumps out into their real browser — so they can actually sign in and pay, instead of hitting a login that quietly refuses to work. That's paying fans you were losing without ever seeing it.
• FixedAdding a contact or mailing-list block could stop the editor saving at all.

The Media Vault

• ImprovedThe Media Vault now strips the hidden location out of HEIC, PNG, WebP, AVIF and video, not just JPEG — those were going into storage with your address still attached, and they aren't any more.

The free tools

• NewA single home for the free tools, explaining what each one is for.
• ImprovedThe free Metadata Checker now reads HEIC straight off your camera roll — the file most likely to still carry your location — plus PNG, WebP, AVIF, TIFF and video.
• ImprovedThe Metadata Checker now explains what your result actually means, including a clean one.
• FixedThe free watermarker used to sit there doing nothing on a HEIC photo. It now tells you why and what to do instead.
