Flickr is a photography community to store and share in. Obsydian is the protected front door you link out from.
Flickr is a long-running photo-hosting community: browse, favourite and comment on other photographers' work, with groups and galleries built around discovery. The free tier caps uploads at 1,000 photos/videos and shows ads; Flickr Pro removes the cap and ads and adds stats, running roughly $11/month, about $82/year, or $148 for two years. It's built for community and archiving, not for content protection or a link-out page.
We're biased — but honest.
Flickr is a place to store and be discovered as a photographer — it isn't trying to protect what you post or give subscribers one link to find everything. There's no watermarking beyond what you add yourself, no automatic metadata scrubbing (in fact photo EXIF is often shown, not stripped), and nothing resembling a link-in-bio page. Obsydian doesn't compete with Flickr's community/discovery angle — it's the protected page you'd link to from a bio, with watermarking and EXIF/GPS scrubbing on by default, which Flickr doesn't offer at all.
